Do you offer any counseling services at EMC?
Our Pastors offer spiritual guidance and support through pastoral counseling. The goal is to listen, pray with you, and help you apply biblical principles to life’s challenges. While they are not licensed professional counselors, they do provide up to three sessions of pastoral counseling for individuals or couples.
If further support is needed beyond that, we will gladly help connect you with trusted professional counselors or other appropriate resources.
What kind of music is played during services at EMC?
At Elgin Methodist Church, our worship reflects the beauty of God's Church—blending timeless hymns with modern worship songs that help people encounter Jesus.
Right now, we're a stripped-down acoustic and piano-led team, creating a worship environment that's authentic, heartfelt, and focused on Christ.
If you're a follower of Jesus, have a heart for worship, and want to use your musical gifts to make Jesus big, we'd love to invite you to audition for the EMC Worship Team.
Are children welcome? Do you have a children’s program at Elgin GMC?
We absolutely love welcoming kids at Elgin Methodist Church!
EMC Kids meets every Sunday at 10:00 AM and is designed for children to grow in their faith through fun, engaging, and age-appropriate Bible teaching.
For students, EGMC YTH meets on the first Sunday of each month at 1:00 PM, immediately following our church potluck.
Infants through 5-year-olds are invited to EMC Littles during our worship service, where they'll enjoy a safe, loving environment while learning about Jesus. Of course, little ones are always welcome to stay with their families in worship if that's your preference.
What should I expect when I visit EMC for the first time?
We can't wait to meet you!
When you visit Elgin Methodist Church, you'll be greeted with friendly smiles, genuine hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere. Come early at 9:30 AM to enjoy a cup of coffee, connect with others in one of our Sunday Small Groups, and join us for worship at 11:00 AM.
Whether you've been in church your whole life or you're walking through our doors for the very first time, we're glad you're here. Come just as you are—there's no dress code, and there's always a place for you at EMC.
*Photography and videography may take place during our services and events to celebrate and share what God is doing at Elgin Methodist Church. Images and video may be used on our website, social media, and other promotional materials. If you prefer not to be photographed or recorded, simply let a staff member or volunteer know, and we'll be happy to accommodate your request.*
Does EMC offer small groups or Bible studies?
Yes! We believe life is better together. We currently offer several home-based LifeGroups that meet throughout the week in different locations around our community. These groups are designed to help you build friendships, grow in your faith, and do life with others.
Need help finding a group? We'd love to help you get connected!
