Music Worship / Band Leader    

Elgin Methodist Church is seeking a gifted, dependable, and Christ-centered Music Worship / Band Leader to lead and develop our worship band and musical expression during weekly Sunday services.

Before musical ability, experience, or talent, we are looking for someone who:

1. Is a committed follower of Jesus Christ who demonstrates spiritual maturity, humility, integrity, and a heart for serving the local church.

2. Can support and work within the vision and leadership of Elgin Methodist Church.

These two things are foundational to this position. Musical gifts and leadership ability are important, but they cannot replace a genuine commitment to Christ or a willingness to serve within the vision and leadership of our church.

 Responsibilities  

 • Lead the worship band during weekly rehearsals and Sunday worship.

• Prepare set lists, arrangements, charts, transitions, and musical direction.

• Lead weekly rehearsals with preparation, clarity, and purpose

• Play piano(preferred), guitar, or another primary instrument as needed.

• Collaborate with pastors, vocalists, musicians, and worship team leaders.

• Help recruit, develop, encourage, and coordinate musicians and vocalists.

• Help develop a cohesive musical sound and blended worship repertoire, including contemporary worship, hymns, gospel, and other appropriate styles.

• Assist with music for special services, holidays, and church events.

 Schedule  

• Weekly rehearsal: Tuesday evening (or designated evening)

• Sunday run-through: 10:00 AM

• Sunday worship: 11:00 AM

• Additional rehearsals/services as needed for special events.

 Compensation  

$200/week for weekly rehearsal and Sunday service.

$100 additional for special events or services outside normal weekly responsibilities.

Child Care Provider

Reports to: Nursery Coordinator

Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Minimum Age: 16

Position Summary

The Child Care Provider creates a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered environment for infants and toddlers while supporting the church’s nursery ministry.

Schedule & Compensation

* Sundays, 9:30 AM–12:30 PM

* $20/hour

* Approximately $60 per Sunday

Responsibilities

* Provide attentive, loving care for infants and toddlers.

* Greet children and parents warmly and create a welcoming environment.

* Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly nursery.

* Follow all church Child/Youth Safety Policies and nursery procedures.

* Maintain appropriate child-to-adult ratios:

  * Infants: 1:4

  * Toddlers: 1:8

* Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification, including infant CPR.

* Remain attentive and engaged with children at all times.

* Clean and disinfect toys, equipment, and surfaces as needed.

* Assist with age-appropriate teaching and activities as directed by the Nursery Coordinator.

* Assist with Vacation Bible School and other special events as needed.

Qualifications

* Genuine love and concern for children.

* Ability to safely lift and carry children.

* Ability to sit on and rise from the floor comfortably.

* Previous experience is helpful but not required.
